Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the question “Why Shariah Governance Framework (SGF) important for Islamic banks?” Design/methodology/approach A semi-structured face-to-face personal interview used accomplish research objectives. This study has collected data from concerned bodies related (SG) central bank and banks Bangladesh. Findings states SG as a process confirming compliance in overall functions banks, while denotes some rules, regulations, guidelines, objectives directions enhance accurate activities, which are solely based on principles. SGF implement principles, confirm monitor banks. Besides, it needed well, efficient, effective, profitable business higher performance and, finally, eliminate confusion among management, executives, conventional bankers Research limitations/implications significantly contributes national global regulatory by providing evidence that why do financial institutions require sound SGF. It recommended there should be robust protect fulfill interest, expectations demands different stakeholders, can easily draw their attention, intention interest. Originality/value first extends literature banking highlighting importance claims complete well protecting unique identity general corporate governance system, manual required.
